Ki Bohiti — is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, activist, and cultural leader from Hudson County, NJ. His name, derived from the Taíno language (Ki meaning “earth spirit,” Bohiti meaning “healer”), reflects his lifelong mission to uplift, heal, and empower through art and music.

Raised between Jersey City and Union City in a working-class Puerto Rican household, Ki’s upbringing was marked by financial hardship, systemic obstacles, and the powerful influence of hip-hop culture. His father — a former baseball star and early hip-hop artist — and his mother — a gifted creative and dedicated worker — instilled in him a deep appreciation for creativity, resilience, and community.

Ki’s artistry began at an early age through drawing, painting, writing poetry, and customizing clothing. In 2013, he co-founded the hip-hop collective 7TRiiiBES and released their debut project Seeking Balance, which gained national recognition and coverage in VIBE Magazine. He later appeared on Revolt TV’s We The People and has since performed over 200 live shows and released more than 10 projects, including the deeply personal Ki Bohiti and the acclaimed Anteiku Tape series.

Throughout his life, Ki has overcome significant adversity — including homelessness, the incarceration of his mother, the absence of his father, and personal battles with mental health. These experiences have deeply shaped his art, which centers on themes of freedom, liberation, truth, growth, and revolution. His work seeks to inspire social consciousness and collective action, encouraging communities to envision and build a more just future.

In addition to his music, Ki is an active community organizer. He received recognition from the Boriqua Community Center for his work transforming an abandoned lot into the 9th Street Guerrilla Garden, a project aimed at creating sustainable, communal spaces. His impact has been documented by numerous media outlets including Vibe, Revolt TV, NJ.com, The Jersey Journal, and We Are Jersey Magazine.

Ki has collaborated with members of 7TRiiiBES, the 070 collective (including 070 Phi and 070 Beheard), Eric the Red, Action Figure, Stack Skrilla, and Micah Write. Driven by the belief that art can change the world, Ki Bohiti continues to build platforms for liberation, unity, and progress — using every lyric, performance, and project as a step toward collective freedom.
